EURNEX Council

The Council is composed of authorised representatives of all participants senior at executive management level.

The chair for the first two years was taken by Prof. Keith Madelin, University Birmingham UK representing UK/Benelux Network, and since his retirement is now taken by Manuel Pereira from the Instituto Superior Técnico of Lisbon, Portugal.

The Council meetings shall take place on a six-monthly basis.

Any participant has the ability to demand an extra session if a specific need is obvious. Every participant will have equal voting rights.

The Council will take decisions of strategic importance and overall organisation of the Network and higher order subjects suggested by the Coordinator including:

adoption/revision of the annual plan of activities of the network, including any revision of the current Joint Programme of Activity and agreement on the allocation or reallocation of such activities to the Parties
on a yearly basis, the allocation of funding received from the Community to the lines of activity to be implemented by the work packages
establishment and review of poles and platforms
allocation of responsibilities for the coordination of the poles and platforms
agreeing on measures of controls and audit procedures in order to ensure the effective day-to-day coordination and monitoring of the network activities
passing and review of the EURNEX Business plan
decisions for procedures and policies in accordance with Annex II General Conditions - Part B for the knowledge management of the JPA
decision on the acceptance of new members to EURNEX
decision on the integration of additional associated members
decision on procedures to be taken against defaulting contractors, including serving notices to such contractor and a request to the EC for an audit on contract issues (e.g. in cases of bankruptcy of a party, changed business activities of a party)
decision on the EURNEX Code of Honour and the quality plan/report, both to be prepared by the Coordinator
